What happens when you die and don’t have a beneficiary listed?

💰 FINANCIAL ACCOUNTS 💰  What happens when you die and don’t have a beneficiary listed?

Your retirement account, investments, etc… Let’s say you forgot to list a beneficiary on one of those accounts.

It happens quite often.

Many times to will go to your estate, if you have a will then your account will go there and be distributed in how your will directs your funds to go.

👉 However, IF YOU HAVE NO WILL, then “estate succession” will kick in and the state will decide where the money will go. And it typically goes to your spouse and kids but not necessarily in the percentages you would have chosen.
