Social Security mentions “Residual Functional Capacity”. What is residual functional capacity ? (RFC)

Your impairments whether medical and/or mental health related, may cause limitations that affect what you can do in a work setting. Your residual functional capacity (RFC) is what you are are capable of doing despite your limitations. If you have more than one impairment then all of your impairments will be considered in determining what your residual functional capacity (RFC) is. Social Security is required to consider not just those impairments they consider severe but all of your limitations because after all, we are looking at everything that limits your ability to work.
