The eligibility numbers are out for 2023 when it comes to eligibility for a married couple were one needs to be in a nursing home. The Community Spouse Resource Allowance (CSRA) has been raised in 2023 to $112, 344.00. This applies to persons who apply for Medicaid nursing home assistance in 2023. This will allow spouses in the community to keep more in assets while having a spouse in a nursing home receiving medicaid nursing home assistance to pay for their care. The Community Spouse Maintenance Needs Allowance (CSMNA) is going to increase from $2,739.00 to $3,715.50 . This will permit spouses who live in the community to potentially retain more monthly income starting in 2023 which will assist them in living in the community while their spouse is in the nursing home and receiving nursing home assistance from Medicaid.
