When Social Security talks about a “Medical Assessment” with regard to your disability claim, what does it mean?

A social security “medical assessment” describes;

1.Your medical ability to do work-related activities such as sitting, standing, lifting, carrying, kneeing, squatting, bending and crawling. It will also involve hearing, speaking, reaching, fingering and handling objects.

2. If you are claiming a mental impairment, the medical assessment will include your ability to concentrate, maintain attention, maintain a reasonble pace in a work environment, understand, remember and apply information, adapt or manage yourself as well as your ability to socially interact with the public, co-workers and supervisors.
