Peoria Social Security Disability Attorney

Getting You The Benefits You Are Entitled To

If you are unable to work for more than one year due to a disability, you have the right to apply for Social Security Disability (SSD) benefits. Unfortunately, this does not mean you will always be approved for SSD benefits. More than 70 percent of initial SSD benefit applications are denied on the first submission. You need an experienced lawyer to guide you through this sometimes frustrating process.

My name is William C. Wombacher and I can help you qualify for the benefits you need to help support yourself and your family. I have been helping people in Peoria, Illinois, and the surrounding areas obtain SSD benefits for more than 35 years. I am a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives (NOSSCR). I understand how the Social Security Administration evaluates applications and I know the information it needs to see in order to grant you these benefits.

How Do I Qualify For SSD Benefits?

You are eligible for Social Security Disability benefits if:

  • You have become disabled due to a qualifying medical impairment or have a disabling illness that will prevent you from working for at least one year, or will result in death.
  • You have worked for a certain period of time within a certain number of years, depending on your age.
  • You are unable to do any sort of work, including but not limited to your current job.

People who are 50 years or older may have an easier time applying for SSD benefits as their age also becomes a significant factor.

I will help you assemble the personal and medical information you need to apply for benefits or to request an appeal. I can also help you determine whether your particular disability is on the list of impairments the Social Security Administration uses to assess disabilities. If you are ineligible for SSD benefits, we can also look at whether you qualify for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits.

You do not need an attorney to represent you as you make a benefits claim, but you are more likely to be successful with my guidance than on your own. I have been through this process numerous times, helping people just like you. My goal is to help you get through this process successfully so you have the resources you need to take care of yourself and your family.
